    Polymer Overview

    It is a semi-crystalline nonpolar thermoplastic, of high hardness and rigidity, has excellent resistance to impact, and to corrosive chemicals.

    They are used in different industrial processes, due to their good electrical, chemical and mechanical properties. It chemically resists aqueous solutions of inorganic acids, weak organic acids, bleaches, alcohol and some oils.

    Polymer General: Polyester is a category of polymers containing the ester functional group in its main chain. The term polyester generally refers to synthetic polyesters (plastics), which include polycarbonate and especially polyethylene terephthalate. Polyester is formed synthetically from ethylene glycol plus terephthalic acid, producing the polymer or poltericolethane. As a result of the polymerization process, the fiber is obtained, which is the basis for the production of sewing threads and for the manufacture of fabrics.

    We offer yarns obtained from Kanecaron® fibers and their blends.

    General information about the polymer:

    Kanecaron fibers, depending on their type, present differential characteristics in terms of oxygen limit (LOI. Percentage of oxygen necessary to achieve combustion), highlighting the fact that it is a fiber that does not melt but carbonizes, a factor that produces a rigid surface that, after combustion, continues to provide protection. The difficult flammability is permanent, without being deteriorated by the action of washing the garment. This characteristic is obtained directly by the modification of the polymer during the fiber extrusion process and cannot be altered during spinning, weaving or finishing, as well as by the care and maintenance operations to which the garments are subsequently subjected.

    With these fibers, physical performance is assured, i.e. high dimensional stability after a high number of washings, light fastness and alkali resistance.
